TripAdvisor has shut down its subscription service after three years

Tripadvisor Plus, a membership programme that saw customers pay £78 per annum to access a range of benefits, has shut down after 3 years. Customers were originally offered immediate discounts on bookings for hotel rooms, airfares and experiences but the membership model changed after a few months to a cash-back model where customers claimed a partial refund after check in. Last week Tripadvisor emailed members of the programme to announce it had officially shut down.

Gary Neville's Hotel Football reports record turnover with revenue growth of £1.2m year-on-year

After opening in 2015, the 133-bedroom hotel opened under GG Hospitality, which is headed by former Manchester United players, Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs, next to Old Trafford Stadium.

In the 12 months to December 2023, the hotel welcomed more than 52,400 guests, up from 48,760 in 2022, with room rate and occupancy growth at 18% and 10% year-on-year. It comes after Manchester's Stock Exchange hotel, also owned by Neville and Giggs, saw losses widen in 2022, despite revenue increasing by 32%.

Janaína Torres was named the World's Best Female Chef 2024

In 2023, Torres was named as part of Latin America's 50 best restaurants, but in 2024, she has now been recognised for her significant culinary contribution on a global scale.

Her restaurant, A Casa do Porco, is famous for its inventive, no-waste, nose-to-tail pork menu and ranked number 12 in the World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023 list. Torres is also deeply involved with social activism, working on government projects to train school cooks to help improve the nutrition of 1.8 million children in just four years.

Nespresso UK has launched its first cafe in London's Liverpool Street

The Nespresso Bar will mark the coffee brand's first entry into the on-the-go coffee market, being able to produce up to 400 coffees in an hour. Guests are able to choose from 5 Nespresso blends.

The new coffee shop will be opening in London’s Liverpool Street and include a professional set-up with an Agulia 440, a commercial machine that can produce up to 400 coffees an hour. The shop will also include a dedicated notice board discussing all the relevant news, upcoming events and initiatives across London.
